Chelsea have appointed former French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Thomas Tuchel as their new manager as the English Premier League team sacked Frank Lampard yesterday morning.
The German head coach brought league title to the PSG including leading the team to the final of the last edition of the UEFA Champions League (UCL). However, Tuchel lost his job after only making suggestive remarks about the team's two stars Neymar and Mbappe.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is initially signing a 18-month deal with Tuchel, however, the possibility of extending the contract with him for another year has been mentioned on the basis of his performance as a coach.
Tuchel has already arrived in London from Paris to take charge of Chelsea. However, in order to get into the bio-bubble of Chelsea with responsibility, he has to be negative for the coronavirus test
