Trawler sinks in sea: Bodies of 3 fishermen recovered

The bodies of three missing fishermen, who went missing after a trawler in the estuary area of Bishkhali and Baleshwar rivers at Patharghata in Barguna, have been recovered on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Ibrahim, son of Hossain Ali of Charlathimara area of Sadar union of the upazila, Monir, son of Tota Miah and Sarwar, son of Abdul Quddus Munshi of Badurtala area.
Earlier, a trawler named Allah Dan, owned by Abdur Razzak, overturned and sank in the river along with 11 fishermen at around 11:00 am on Tuesday. Eight people were rescued in the incident while three fishermen were missing.
Abul Hossain Faraji, vice-president of the Barguna District Fishermen's Trawler Owners' Association, said trawlers were sent to rescue the missing fishermen immediately after the incident. They recovered the bodies of the three at around 8:00 am. However, the sunken trawler could not be rescued.
Lt. Fahim Shahriar, commander of the Coast Guard's South Zone Patharghata station, said the operation to recover the trawler is underway.
