Trawler capsized in Cox’s Bazar: 12 rescued alive, 3 missing

A fishing trawler carrying 15 fishermen was sunk in a gust of wind near Laboni Point on Cox’s Bazar beach. The incident took place about 3/4 kilometer far from the  Laboni Point on Sunday afternoon. 

Twelve fishermen were rescued alive on Sunday evening. However, 3 fishermen are still missing in this incident.

All the rescued and missing are residents of Kutubdia Para, Chakaria and Maheshkhali upazilas of Cox's Bazar.

Cox's Bazar district administration executive magistrate (in charge of tourism cell) Imran Zahid Khan said the fishing trawler sank in of the Bay of Bengal, about 3/4 km far from Laboni Point on the beach.

Additional SP of the tourist police Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed said the rescued fishermen have been admitted to Sadar Hospital. They are all safe.
