Total voters in the country is more than 11.17cr: EC

With the addition of about 19 lakh new voters in 2020, the total number of voters in the country has increased to 11,17,20,669, said the Election Commission (EC).
This information has been given in the voter updated list published on the occasion of National Voters’ Day 2021 on Tuesday.
According to the EC, a total of 19,18,056 new voters have been added in the last one year from March 2, 2020. Of these - 11,25,755 are males and 7,92,220.
At the time, 16,499 voters have been dropped from the list due to death. Of these – 10,280 are males and 6,219 are females.
Currently, the total number of voters in the country is 11,17,20,669 people. Of these – 5,65,98,000 are male voters and 5,51,22,223 are female voters.
On March 2, 2020, the total number of voters was 10,98,19,112 people. Of these – 5,54,82,530 were male voters and 5,43,36,222 were female voters.
About 441 transgender people with third gender identity have been included in the voter list.
In the last one year, the voter growth rate was 1.75 percent. Out of the total electorate, the number of female voters has come down to 49.33 percent from 49.48 percent.
