Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shafi has died at a private hospital in the capital on Friday evening at the age of 105.
Earlier, doctors advised him to be taken to Dhaka at noon as his condition was critical. In the afternoon he was brought to Dhaka from Chattogram by air ambulance.
Shah Ahmad Shafi was a prominent Islamic figure among the country's Islamic scholars, and founder and Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh. He was also the chairman of Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh. He was also the Director General of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Muinul Islam Madrasa, Hathazari.
In his long-term life, Allama Shafi was also very good at writing. He wrote several books in Urdu and Bengali. Among them, ten important books are;

Allama Shafi, who was in the ICU of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital, was airlifted to Dhaka by air ambulance and admitted to Azgar Ali Hospital on Friday evening. He died there while undergoing treatment.
Allama Ahmad Shafi has been suffering from age-related weakness as well as diabetes, high blood pressure and shortness of breath for a long time.
