Seven of the 14 special flights of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines have been suspended.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul-Ahsan, director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, came up with the information while talking to reporters on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has said that it will look into why Bangladesh Biman has fixed the flight schedule without landing permission.
CAAB said that if any irregularity is found, necessary legal action will be taken against those concerned.
Earlier, Biman Bangladesh's 'BG-5093' flight was scheduled to leave Shahjalal International Airport for Riyadh at around 6:15 am on Saturday. However, the flight was canceled as Saudi Arabia did not grant permission to land. About 300 passengers, who arrived at the airport six hours before the flight schedule, protested over the incident.
Officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport said the flight had been canceled because Saudi Arabian authorities revoked the landing permit.
An airport official said the passengers would be taken to a hotel in the capital.
