The Caribbeans could not stand against the Bangladesh national cricket team’s bowlers. The visitors lost all their wickets in just 122 runs and gave 123 runs target to Tigers. Debutant Hasan Mahmud took three wickets.
Tiger captain Tamim Iqbal decided to bowl after winning the toss in the first match of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in the capital on Wednesday.
The Fizz broke the opening pair of the Caribbeans in the beginning. Mustafiz returned co-captain Sunil Ambris, scored 7 runs off 5 balls, to the pavilion through LBW.
Meanwhile, the game was stopped just 18 minutes after the start of the match due to rain. West Indies batted 3.3 overs before raining. They lost a wicket and scored 15 runs.
When the rain subsided, Mustafiz took the second wicket of the Caribbean again. Joshua Da Silva returned the pavilion with 9 runs after giving a catch to Liton Das.
Captain Jason Mohammed and Andre McCarthy tried to take the team’s helm, however, Shakib then attacked their batting line-up and took the wickets of McCarthy (12), Jason (17), and Nkrumah Bonner in a row.
Hasan Mahmud, who made his debut, took the wickets of Rovman Powell (28), Raymon Reifer (0), and Akeal Hosein (1). Then Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up Kyle Mayers who scored the highest 40 runs for the team.
