Bangladesh national cricket team today reached Kandy, a place where they will play both of the Test matches against the hosts Sri Lanka.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media department confirmed their arrival in Kandy through a WhatsApp message.
The two-match Test series, which was postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).
The first Test is slated to begin on April 21 while the second Test is from April 29. Both of the matches will take place at Kandy’s Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Upon their arrival in Sri Lanka on April 12, the Tigers were in room quarantine for three days in a place named Nigombo. After their room quarantine, they played a two-day inter-squad practice game where most of the batters scored considerably.
The Bangladesh team however will now train on April 19 and 20 at Kandy before taking on Sri Lanka for the first Test.
