Bangladesh Cricket Team will be without a head coach for the upcoming ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, as well as the Test and T-20 series against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh Cricket Boaed (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon said the assistant coach Richard Halsall will be in charge of coaching the side while manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mashrafe Mortaza will share responsibilities without the permanent head coach.

The BCB uttered with Andy Flower, Justin Langer, Tom Moody, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara as possible candidates for Hathurusingha`s replacement, but all five of them are declined for the position, He added. The BCB then interviewed Richard Pybus and Phil Simmons, who was entitled as Afghanistan`s coach on December 31.

Halsall will take an overall role, while the coaching staff will remain in charge of their particular areas, said the BCB president.

He also said that the existing support staff will remain as it is and while we are still looking for a permanent coach, Khaled Mahmud Sujon will be working as a manager and Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza will act as coaches in this tri-series. Richard Halsall will act as head coach in this series.

Khaled Mahmud has been seen managing day-to-day activities during the first week of the preliminary camp in Mirpur with bowling coach Courtney Walsh and spin-bowling coach Sunil Joshi.
