They were admitted to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital. Imam Uddin, brother of the injured, told that Masum Sardar, husband of Union Parishad member Sufia Begum, forced the landowners to lease the land to fish farming. The three landowners complained to the SP office over the issue.

Later, the SP called on both sides to stop the work. Over the issue, Masum attacked the three brothers' shop in Angaria Bazar and beat them severely, he added.

At that time, the attackers looted the goods of Moniruzzaman Chaiyal's motorcycle and goods of their two shops.

However, Masum Sardar denied all allegation against him and said, "We did not attack anyone."
