RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that when the car of Major (retd) Sinha was stopped at the Shamlapur check post, he got out of the car, raised his hands and knelt down. He had no weapon in his hand at that moment. The new investigation officer informed this to RAB director general while inspecting the spot.
The RAB DG said the investigation would be completed soon, adding that they were not embarrassed to investigate the case against the police.
Senior ASP Khairul Islam, the investigating officer of the case, showed the location of the hand of retired Major Sinha to the RAB Director-General while Inspector Liaquat was firing. It also shows the drum used to stop the vehicle at the Shamlapur check-post in Teknaf and where Sinha's body fell after being shot.
RAB's Additional Director General of Operations told DG that Sinha’s car stopped at the BGB check-post before coming to the Shamlapur check-post. Conducting CCTV footage there, they did not think anyone was chasing the car.
After the inspection, the RAB DG said that the investigation is progressing positively. They are not embarrassed to investigate the murder case filed against the police officers.
"We are looking into this. We are investigating every piece of information that I get. You will know everything,” RAB Director General Abdullah Al Mamun said.
The RAB chief flew in a helicopter this morning to supervise the investigation of the case.
