A Dhaka court on Sunday set March 3 for start examining witnesses in a graft case against BNP leader Ishrak Hossain, party’s Dhaka South City Corporation mayoral candidate in recently-held election.

Today was fixed for start recording the testimonies in the case and Ishrak too was present before the court.

The acting Judge Abu Syed Dilzar Hossain adjourned the hearing till March 3 as Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 was on leave today.

Earlier on January 15, the court framed charges against Ishrak and set today for start recording the testimonies.

On August 29, 2010, then ACC assistant director Shamsul Alam filed the case against Ishrak for not submitting wealth statement in spite of getting notices from the anti-graft body.

Later on December 6, 2018, Investigation officer and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy director Jahangir Hossain filed the charge sheet in the case.
