Temperature may rise by 1-2°C

Day and night temperature may rise by (1-2)°C over the country in the next 24-hours ending at 9 am tomorrow, said a met office bulletin on Sunday morning.

According to the bulletin, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at a few places over Chittagong, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Rajshahi & Rangpur divisions with hails at isolated places over the country.

The highest 51 millimetres (mm) rainfall was recorded at Srimangal in Sylhet in 24 hours ending at 6 am today.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature was recorded 36.0 degrees Celsius yesterday at Jashore in Khulna division while today`s minimum temperature 20.0 at Rajarhat in Rangpur division.

Seasonal low lies over the South Bay while a trough of low lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining area.

Today`s sunset over the capital city will be at 6:23 pm while tomorrow`s sunrise at 5:31 am.
