Temperature may fall by (1-2)°C

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted that day and night temperature may fall by (1-2) degrees Celsius over the country in next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

It also forecasted that rain or thundershowers may occur at many places over the country during the period. 

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met Office release issued this morning. 

Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna and Dinajpur and it may abate from some places.  

The country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi while today’s minimum temperature was 23.6 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur division. 

The sun sets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:13 am tomorrow in the capital.
