Temperature likely to rise

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday predicted Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The Met Office also forecasted rain or thunder showers with moderately heavy falls at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Chattogram, divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country. Weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the regions of Rangamati, Chandpur, M.court and Sayedpur and it may continue, said the bulletin.
The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 38.0 degree Celsius at Jashore in Khulna and today’s minimum temperature 20.9 degree Celsius was recorded jointly at Srimangal in Sylhet.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 53 millimeters (mm) at Dhaka.
The sun sets at 06:35 pm today and rises at 05:15 am tomorrow in the capital.
