The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasted today that the day temperature is likely to fall slightly over the country in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow at 9:00 am.
“Day temperature may fall slightly over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country,” the country’s Met Office said in a weather bulletin signed by Meteorologist A.K.M. Ruhul Kuddus, deputy director of BMD.
“Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country,” it also said.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.
Besides, moderately heavy downpours are likely to occur at places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
The Met Office said the axis of the monsoon trough has run through Rajsthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs has “extended” upto North Bay. As a result, the monsoon is less
active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
“A low-pressure area is likely to form over northeast Bay and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal,” the Met Office also said.
“Rainfall activity may increase in the next 72 hours or within three days,” the weather bulletin added.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 35.2°C yesterday in Sylhet and Barishal districts while today’s minimum temperature was recorded 24.5°C at Tetulia in the Rangpur division.
Today’s sunset will be at 5:52 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:49 am.
