Tanvir powers Emerging Team victory in 4-day Match

Bangladesh Emerging Team beat Ireland Wolves by an innings and 23 runs in the four-day match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

After winning the toss Ireland Wolves chose to bat first and they were bowled out for 151 following excellent bowling from Tanvir Islam. After that Bangladesh went down to bat and scored 313 runs thanks to Yasir Ali's 92 runs. Bangladesh Emerging Team got 162 runs lead in the first innings. Saif Hasan's team beat the visiting team by an innings and 23 runs.

After bowling the best of his first-class career in the first innings, 24-year-old Tanvir surpassed himself in the second innings taking 8 wickets for 51 runs in the second innings. In all, the bowler has taken 13 wickets in the match.

Ireland had to score at least 162 runs to avoid the innings defeat. But they were bowled out for 139 runs in 74.3 overs. Ireland, who came to bat after bowling out Bangladesh in the last afternoon, lost 4 wickets for 33 runs. Two overnight batsmen Harry Tractor and Curtis Camper remained intact in the first session of the third day.

The two added 60 runs for the fifth wicket. Ireland Wolves lost their way after losing Camper to 93. The visitors lost the last 5 wickets for 46 runs and all out for 137 runs. Spinner Tanvir took 8 wickets while Saif Hassan and Ebadat shared two wickets between them.

Bangladesh Emerging Team: 313/10 in 90.4 overs (Yasir Ali 92, Saif Hassan 49, Tanzid Hasan 41; Hume 3/49, Adair 3/88, Garth 2/48).
