Sylhet BCL activist stabbed dead

A local activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was stabbed to death at Tilagarh Point in Sylhet on Sunday night. His classmates and partymates claimed that the people of the rival killed him.
The deceased was identified as Tanim Khan, 24, an activist of Sylhet Govt College unit BCL, 3rd year student of the college and son of Israil Khan of Nij Bhurungamari village in Osmaninagar upazila.
Two BCL groups had long been at loggerheads over establishing their dominance at MC College. As a sequel of the enmity, rivals swooped on Tanim at Tilagarh Point around 9pm and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured, said Akhtar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shah Paran Police Station.
Locals rescued him and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the police personnel added.
Tanim`s Classmates said that clash is occured between the two sides of the BCL on 4 January. As a sequel of the enmity, rivals swooped on Tanim on Sunday night.
