Swechchhasebak League pays tribute to language heroes

Bangladesh Awami Swechchhasebak League has paid homage to the Language Heroes at the central Shaheed Minar on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.
Central leaders of the Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League, led by its president Nirmal Ranjan Guha and general secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu, paid their tributes by placing the floral wreath.
After paying homage Nirmal Ranjan Guha said, "On February 21, 1952, the national consciousness of the Bengalis was awakened flowing the deaths of language heroes. The Bengalis found the direction of their national identity. Under leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a new journey of the freedom movement began in building self-identity."
He said the late President Zillur Rahman was appointed as the head of the Awami Swechasebak League formed under the supervision of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to implement the 21 points declared by the United Front in 1954. After that Bangladesh passed through movement and struggle. Which was led by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Nirmal Ranjan Guha said, " Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has earned the right and freedom of language and Sheikh Hasina has brought international recognition to the Bengali language."
Afzalur Rahman Babu, general secretary of the organization, said, "Ekush is our identity, Ekush means not bowing our heads."
Leaders and activists of different levels of Bangladesh Awami Swechchhasebak League were present on the occasion.
