Swadhin Bangla footballer Nawsher dies of COVID-19

AKM Nawsheruzzaman, one of the main strikers of the Swadhin Bangla Football team, has died of coronavirus at the Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka at around 8:30 pm on Monday. He was 72.
It is learned that his first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium at 10 am on Tuesday and the second namaz-e-janaza at Munshiganj after Johor prayer. He will be buried at a graveyard in his home district in Chandpur.
He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter, and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Nawsheruzzaman was a famous striker. Before independence, he played for Railway, Wari, Fire Service, and Victoria Sporting Club.
He has played for the Swadhin Bangla Football team in different parts of India. He served the national team from 1973 to 1976.
