Sudden tornado hits Bhola destroying hundred homes

At least 30people were injured in house collapse and hundreds of homes and businesses have been destroyed in a sudden tornado in Char Fashion Upazila of Bhola, a southern district in Bangladesh. The injured have been treated locally. The tornado hit Ward No. 8 of Aslampur UP in the upazila around 3:30 am on Sunday dawn.
A local resident named Rajib Matabbar said a tornado hit Ward No. 8 of Aslampur UP around 3:30 am. Within 10 minutes, hundreds of houses and shops in Bahaddarhat, Uchapul, Majeder Dokan and Bhulaimor area were destroyed.
The tornado knocked down several large trees that blocked the Char Fashion-Betua road. Later in the morning, the locals removed the trees from the road.
In addition, furniture in more than 100 houses and 30 homes and three businesses, including two auto-rickshaws, were completely damaged.
On the other hand, UNO Ruhul Amin has visited the spot and distributed dry food among the affected families on Sunday morning.
The UNO said 55 to 60 houses were destroyed by the tornado. We visited the affected areas and initially distributed dry food among the victims. Rice, Tin and cash will be given to the victims in phased after list.
