Ekushey award winner actress also MP Suborna Mustafa asked for the government's initiatives for the development of the film.

Suborna Mustafa express her anxiety over the crisis of Bangladesh film industry during her ‘thank delivery' on the President’s address in the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday.

In her speech, she expressed the miserable condition of the home film industry and demanded government initiatives to stope showing foreign films and impose a restriction on it as well as providing subsidies for the local films development.  She also asked to create a time frame for the foreign serials and advertisements on the TV channels in the country, besides.

The renowned actress said, “Film is a part of our culture. But sadly, our film is going through a difficult period. I am calling to develop cinema halls in all the districts soon, making Cineplex, free of tax, and utility bills and to provide subsidies on the native film sector. And increase taxa on foreign film show. At the same time, I would like to call for the improvement of local films as well as scheduling of advertisement and foreign films.

At this time, Suborna Mustafa thanked the Prime Minister for giving Ekushey Padak to her neck and nomination as MP.
