Students will be admitted to each class through lottery system at the secondary level in the educational institutions of the country, informed Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni at a press briefing on Wednesday.
“The decision was taken considering the situation of coronavirus outbreak in the country,” said the minister.
The area-wise quota has been increased to 50 percent, the Education Minister said at that time.
She said, “Due to coronavirus, it is not possible to take admission tests like every year. So, we came up with three alternative processes.”
First, we thought of taking the admission test in the normal way but did not want to do it this year due to COVID-period.
We also thought about the MCQ method, however, there is a risk in that too. Second – online admission test. But this will not be possible for all admission seekers. So, we took the final decision to complete the school admission process through lottery, Dr. Dipu Moni further said.
This year, students will be able to apply for admission in five schools, Education Minister also said at the press briefing.
