The government has decided to extend the nationwide lockdown by another week considering the coronavirus infection and death.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam at the Secretariat on Monday.
Earlier on Sunday night, a meeting of the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 passed a resolution to extend the lockdown.
As the second wave of coronavirus infections took a terrible turn in the country, a week-long lockdown was imposed in the first phase from April 5, which continued till April 13.
Then, in the second phase, ‘strict reattractions’ started across the country from 6:00 am on April 14. It will continue till midnight on April 21.
