Information Minister and Awami League joint general secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said that the success of Eid lies in supporting those who are helpless and can't enjoy the joy of Eid.
He said this while greetings the countrymen on Eid-ul-Fitr after a privately organized congregation at a government residence in the capital on Monday.
Hasan Mahmud said, "I firmly believe that the bad times will be over and a new sun will rise." With the joint efforts of all, we will be able to deal with this disaster and the country will continue to move forward.
Highlighting the difference in the context of this year's Eid, he said, "For the first time in the last 20 years, I am performing Eid prayers in Dhaka." Every year I used to perform Eid prayers with the village people. This time I could not join them due to coronavirus. Due to the changed circumstances created by a coronavirus, people have to celebrate Eid without hugging and shaking hands. I have also organized Eid Jamaat at home.
Referring to the Prime Minister's address to the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Information Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been making strenuous efforts to save the lives and livelihoods of the people.
Information Minister Hasan Mahmud wished the people of the country and the entire world a speedy release from the COVID-19 epidemic.
