Sri Lanka beat WI in 2nd T20I

Visiting Sri Lanka won the second T20I to level the three-match series 1-1 against the West Indies. After batsmen post a fighting total of 160 Sri Lankans spinners did the rest job to seal 43 runs victory in the second T20I against the Caribbeans at Coolidge Cricket Ground on Friday.

After winning the toss Sri Lanka chose to bat first in the second T20Is and post 160/6. Danushka Gunathilaka and Pathum Nissanka added 95 runs in the opening stand before Pathum Nissanka run out for 36 by Dwayne Bravo. Gunathilaka, who scored the highest 56 runs for the team, returned to the dressing room in the same over.

Since then, Sri Lanka has been losing wickets at regular intervals. Ashen Bandara made 21 off 19, PWH de Silva scored 19 off 11.

For West Indies, Dwayne Bravo took two wickets while Jason Holder and Obed McCoy took one wicket each.

In reply, West Indies lost opener Evin Lewis (6) in the third over when West Indies' score was 9. Lendl Simmons and Chris Gayle then put 36 runs in the wickets. When Gayle dismissed by de Silva scoring 16 runs, no one could resist.

McCoy scored the highest 23 runs for the team. Simmons scored 21, Pollard 13, and Fabian Allen 12. Laxman Sandakan and De Silva took three wickets each for the Lankans. 

Sri Lanka level the series 1-1 with this win. The last match of the series will be held on March 8 at the same venue.
