Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have arrested two men for sound pollution loudspeakers (mike) in the public place. At that time, their used loudspeakers and car were also seized.

They were arrested on Thursday evening from the Muslim high school area under Kotwali police station.

The arrested were identified as Md. Alamgir and Md. Kausar.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mohsin said they were running a commercial campaign by a loudspeaker in an autorickshaw on the occasion of the Hero Genius Parts Fair-2020. At that time, they were arrested under section 63 of the CMP Ordinance for the crime of making public annoyance by creating noise in public places and sent to the court.

The OC said Commissioner Sir was seeking to stop noise pollution. Under his direction, we started the expedition. It will keep running.

Contextually, high levels of noise can cause ear damage and pose various health risks, including high blood pressure, heart disease. As a result, on February 10, the CMP Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman has banned the use of high-sounding instruments in the city.
