Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Bangladesh Biman’s two new dreamliners aircraft Boeing 787-9 named ‘Sonar Tori’ and Achin Pakhi’. 

The premier commissioned the two state-of-the-art aircrafts of the national flag carrier by cutting ribbons at the VVIP Tarmac of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA)  in the capital at 10:00 am on Saturday. 

After the inauguration, the Prime Minister boarded the aircraft and visited various parts of the cockpit.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Biman Enamul Bari, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Mofidur Rahman, Secretary of Biman Md Mohibul Haque, MD of Biman Mokabber Hossain, and Earl Robert, United States Ambassador to Bangladesh. 

Earlier, Biman’s 5th Dreamliner Boeing 787-9 named as “Sonar Tori” landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on December 21 while Biman’s same model named, “Achin Pakhi” arrived in Dhaka from Seattle, the USA, on December 24. With these two aircraft, the national flag carrier’s fleet number will raise to 18.
