Sikder group’s MD Ron Haque Sikder arrested

Ron Haque Sikder, managing director (MD) of Sikder Group, has been arrested by the members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police around 10 am today from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport just after landing at the airport.
Golam Saqlain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gulshan division) of DB police, said that Ron Haque has been shown arrested in a case filed by Exim Bank. Another accused in the case Ron Haque Sikder's brother Dipu Haque Sikder did not come to the country and remained fugitive in abroad.
Ron and his brother Dipu Sikder fled to Bangkok on a private jet on May 25, a week after they were accused of assaulting two officers of Export-Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited in a case.
Two directors of Sikder Group allegedly tried to kill Exim Bank's Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Haider Ali Mia and Additional MD Mohammad Firoz Hossain.
The EXIM Bank authorities filed a case filed with Gulshan police station on behalf of MD Mohammad Haider Ali Mia, accusing the brothers of attempting to murder, abduction, and intimidating two of its top officers over the sanction of a loan of Tk 500 crore.
