Shops, shopping malls to remain open till 8pm

The government has directed shops and shopping malls to be kept open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm for Eid shopping to tackle the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
This instruction has been given in a gazette notification issued on Wednesday extending the deadline of the ongoing lockdown till May 16.
“Shops and shopping malls can be kept open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm as before,” the notification said, noting that all shops and shopping malls are directed to observe proper hygiene rules. “Otherwise, shops and shopping malls will be closed immediately.”
It said public transport from one district to another would be closed. Public transport will run only within the district. Passenger boats and trains will remain closed as before. The new restrictions will take effect on Thursday.
A week-long lockdown was imposed on April 5 in the first phase to stop the second wave of coronavirus in the country which was lasted till April 13.
The second phase of the nationwide lockdown began on April 14 and lasted until April 21. It was later extended to April 28. Then again it was extended till May 5.
