A court in Dhaka has ordered to land Rafiqul Islam Madani, widely known as "Shishu Bokta", in jail after four days of remand in a case filed with Motijheel Police Station over the violence on March 25 this year.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Nivana Khayer Jessy passed the order on Monday.
Earlier in the day, the police produced him before the court after remand in the case. Later, the court ordered him to be sent to jail as the investigation officer of the case plead to keep him in jail till the end of the investigation.
The case was filed against 51 named and 200-300 unnamed leaders and activists of Hefajat-e-Islam with Motijheel Police Station on March 25 with charges of preventing policemen from discharging their duties.
On April 7, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Madani from his ancestral home in Netrokona's Purbatola area.
