Shipra gets bail

Shipra Rani Debnath, a student of the Department of Film and Media Studies at Stamford University, also a film associate of Major (retd.) Sinha Md. Rashed Khan; who was arrested in a narcotic case after the murder of Major (retd.) Sinha Md. Rashed Khan has been granted bail.
Shahedul Islam Sifat, a third-year student at Stamford University's Department of Film and Media Studies, was with Sinha when he was shot at a police checkpoint in Teknaf on the night of July 31. Sifat was made accused in the case filed by the police with Teknaf police station. He is now in Cox's Bazar District Jail.
Shipra Rani Debnath, a third-year student of the same university, and Tahsin Rifat Noor, a final-year student, were at a resort in Himchhari at the time of the incident. After the incident, the police raided the resort and arrested them. Later, a case was filed against Shipra with Ramu police station under the Narcotics Act for keeping a bottle of liquor. Tahsin Rifat Noor was released on bond with a relative.
Shipra, one of the film associates of Major (retd.) Sinha hailed from a village in Kustia is a daughter of a retired BGB officer.
