Mumbai police have filed a supplementary chargesheet against businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who was arrested in a porn scandal. The Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police has filed a 1,500-page chargesheet in the Mumbai Magistrate’s Court about two months after his arrest.
Not only that, the statements of 43 other persons including Shilpa Shetty and Sherlyn Chopra have also been mentioned in this supplementary chargesheet – who have been considered as witnesses in this case.
Raj’s name came up in the chargesheet which was filed in April this year. Shilpa Shetty’s husband is in jail at the moment. Despite appealing for bail more than once, it was rejected.
Even the bail petition argued that Raj has British citizenship, mentioned that “it was not right to detain anyone based on conjecture”. It was even claimed that the arrest was “illegal”, however, the court also rejected that petition.
Police told the court that “if Raj Kundra gets bail, it will send a wrong message to the society”. Mumbai police further said they feared Raj could try to flee if granted bail. “He can even create porn videos once again,” police told the court.
Police also said that none of the women victims of Raj Kundra’s porn video scandal were financially well-off. As a result, he can try to destroy the evidence by putting pressure on them.
A total of 19 such reasons have been submitted to the court by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch for not granting bail to Raj Kundra.
