Popular actress and cultural activist Meher Afroz Shaon has announced to boycott Dhallywood actor Ananta Jalil.
She announced the boycott, alleging that he had recently made indecent remarks about women while speaking out against the oppression of women, including rape.
Meher Afroz Shaon wrote on his verified Facebook page, “Myself, Meher Afroz Shaon, a Bangladeshi film and media worker and a conscious citizen of an independent sovereign state, have boycotted Mr. Ananta Jalil for making obscene remarks and irrelevant video messages to Bangladeshi women.”
Earlier, filmmaker Ananta Jalil shared a video on his verified Facebook page about rape, oppression and torture of women in the country. In that video, he criticized the way women dress.
Ananta Jalil's video went viral on social media, causing various discussions and criticisms. Two sides have already been created with his video message. One side has supported the words of Ananta Jalil. Again, many are opposing the statement of the star.
