Bangladesh ace all rounder Shakib Al Hasan will leave Dhaka for the United States on February 21 (Sunday). Shakib Al Hasan's request not to consider him for the New Zealand tour to stay with his wife who is expecting 3rd child has been accepted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Shakib had applied for leave to BCB after the home series against the West Indies.

Confirming the matter, Akram Khan said at that time, "He (Shakib) has given a letter accepting his leave application. We will get him after New Zealand. We talked to the board president. We have granted him leave."

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also granted Shakib Al Hasan leave during next month's Test series against Sri Lanka so he can take part in the IPL, according to the cricket operations head Akram Khan. Shakib, who was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 3.20 crore in the 2021 auction on Thursday, wrote to the BCB asking for the leave, which the board agreed to.

Earlier, Shakib came to Bangladesh from the United States to play Bangabandhu T20 Cup at the end of last year. Where he played only 9 matches for Jamcon Khulna. Although the team became champion, the Shakib was forced to back the United States due to his father-in-law's illness before the final.
