Severe to mild cold wave likely to continue

Severe to mild and moderate cold wave is sweeping over and it may continue over the country in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow 9:00 am, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) office on Wednesday morning.

According to BMD office weather bulletin, a severe cold wave is sweeping over the region of Panchaghar, mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over the rest part of Rangpur divisions and the regions of Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Jashore, Chuadanga, and Srimangal and it may continue.

Besides, light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country during the late night to morning.

However, weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

In the meantime, night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Meanwhile, a ridge of Sub-continental high extends upto West Bengal and adjoining area. So, seasonal low lies over South Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature recorded 30.2 degree Celsius yesterday at Sitakunda of Chattogram divisions while today’s minimum temperature recorded 5.7 degree Celsius at Tetulia of Rangpur divisions.

Today Sunset at Dhaka will be at 5:23 pm and Sunrise tomorrow at 6:42 am.
