Second wave of COVID-19 starts: Zahid Maleque

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that the second wave of coronavirus infection has started in the country. People are going out of the house in search of life and livelihood.

He said this while inaugurating the modernization of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital, quality medical services, and expansion of education on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday.

Noting that indifference is being noticed in complying with the health rules, he said that the health department including doctors and nurses are ready to deal with the second wave of coronavirus. He urged media people to come forward to ensure health guidelines properly.

The health minister also said that various ceremonies including weddings and picnics are held in winter. There is a risk of an increase in coronary heart disease due to overcrowding. For this reason, it is necessary to refrain from organizing these kinds of events.
