Second consignment of metro rail coaches reach Mongla port

The second consignment of 48 packages of six metro rail coaches arrived at Mongla port today.

MV Ocean Grace, carrying the second shipment of metro train, reached Mongla port at 12.30 pm.

The 119-meter-long ship carrying the metro train set started its journey from Kobe port of Japan.

Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, chairman of Mongla Port, said, "We have kept the activities of Mongla Port open 24 hours a day even in the Corona epidemic. For the second time, 6 bogies of metro train have reached Mongla port today. By 2022, 144 bogies of metro rail will be imported and unloaded at the port.

Earlier, on March 31, MV SPM Bangkok, carrying the first set of metro trains, arrived at Mongla seaport at 4:18 pm. The six carriages unloaded at the port at that time have already brought Diabari to Dhaka's Uttara by the river.

Incidentally, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is the importer of these coaches in Bangladesh.
