The Ministry of Education has decided to reopen the secondary and higher secondary educational institutions across the country on May 23.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the ministry on Thursday night.
The meeting informed the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) infection is increasing all over the world including Bangladesh. As a result, the health and overall safety of students, teachers, staff and parents have been taken into consideration.
In the context of this, in consultation with the National Advisory Committee on Covid-19, classroom teaching in all secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions will start from May 23 after the next Eid-ul-Fitr. Online education activities will continue at the time.
Earlier, the Education Minister said the educational institutions will be opened after Eid, not March 30, considering the Covid-19 situation in the country.
