The court on Saturday has granted a seven-day remand to Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, the main accused in the murder case of schoolgirl Nila Roy in Savar, Dhaka.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rajib Hasan passed the order.
Earlier, the investigating officer of the case, SI Nirmal Chandra Das of Savar police station, produced the accused in court and appealed for a 10-day remand.
Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury was arrested in a raid near Colonel Bricks Field in Rajfulbaria of Savar’s Tentuljhora UP around 10:30 pm on Friday. Mizan’s two accomplices Shakib and Joy were also arrested and a knife used in the murder was recovered. Later, the two were also shown arrested, police said.
So far, six people, including Mizan and her parents, have been arrested in connection with Nila murder. The court yesterday remanded Mizan’s parents for two days.
Earlier, Mizanur Rahman’s aide Selim Paloan was arrested from Aricha in Manikganj on Wednesday.
Mizan stabbed Nila Roy, 14, to death on the night of September 21 in front of her brother.
