Schoolgirl Nila murder: Parents of prime accused put on remand

The court has remanded the parents of Mizan, a member of the teenage gang and the prime accused in the murder of schoolgirl Nila Roy in Savar, Dhaka, for two days.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasneem passed the order on Friday.
The remanded accused are – Abdur Rahman, 60, and his wife Nazmun Nahar Siddiqui, 50.
Earlier in the afternoon, Nirmal Chandra Ghosh, investigating officer of the case and SI of Savar police station, produced the accused in court and asked for their seven-day remand. On the other hand, their lawyer appealed for bail on behalf of the accused. After hearing both sides, the judge rejected the bail petition and granted remand to each for two days.
The two were arrested in a raid at Charigram in the Singair police station area of Manikganj district around 8:00 pm on Thursday. However, their son Mizan, the prime accused in the case, is still absconding.
Nila Roy, daughter of Narayan Roy of Balirtek village under Sadar police station in Manikganj district and a tenth-grade of the local school, used to live rented on the fifth floor of Shitol-Sithil Villa at Kazi Mokma Para of the municipal area.
According to RAB, Mizan stabbed Nila to death on the night of September 21. Later, his father Narayan Roy filed a murder case against Mizan and three others.
