Saudi among Middle East countries celebrating Eid today

Many countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday, saying Gulf News quoted the Saudi Press Agency.
The moon of the holy month of Shawwal in the year 1441 AH (Arabic) was not seen in Saudi Arabia last Friday evening. As a result, the country’s Supreme Court declared Eid on Sunday.
The UAE government has formed a moon-sighting committee. The decision was taken to celebrate the Eid on Sunday after a virtual meeting chaired by the country’s law minister as the moon was not seen on Friday evening.
The moon was also not seen in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore on Friday. Eid is being celebrated in these countries on Sunday.
Various countries have imposed restrictions on Eid celebrations amid the coronavirus pandemic. Saudi Arabia has announced a 24-hour curfew on Eid holidays.
