The district administration has extended the ongoing lockdown for another seven days – from Friday (June 11) to June 17 midnight – as the situation of Covid-19 has not improved in Satkhira.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the District Coronavirus Prevention Committee in the conference room of the deputy commissioner on Thursday afternoon.
DC SM Mostafa Kamal said a seven-day lockdown was declared in Satkhira in the first phase. However, the ongoing lockdown has been extended for another seven days as the rise of Covid-19 cases has not slowed down at this time. The lockdown will be effective till 12 am on June 17. At the same time, all the previous restrictions will remain in force.
