The body of one worker was recovered in a trawler capsizing in Satkhira
Fire service personnel have recovered the body of one of the three workers who went missing in a trawler capsizing incident at Kurikaunia in Assasuni Upazila of Satkhira.
His body was found floating at the Dashaliya of Koira in Khulna opposite the Kurikahunia launch ghat on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Babar Ali, son of Manzil Sardar of Kapasanda village under Assasuni.
However 56 hours after the trawler capsize, two workers named Shafiqul and Aziz are still missing.
Eyewitness Hasanul Banna said the body of Babar Ali was found floating at the Dashaliya of Kopotakkho River at noon. His body was recovered with the help of the fire service personnel.
Satkhira Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Tareq Hasan Bhuiyan said the rescue operation is underway for the third day. One body has been recovered. Efforts are underway to rescue the other two.
Earlier, a trawler capsized in a canal in Kurikaunia on Tuesday morning while going to work on the embankment which was broken during Cyclone Amphan. Of the 12 workers in the trawler, nine were rescued but three were missing.
