Satkhira 4-murder: deceased`s younger brother held

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) claims to have arrested Raihanul Islam, younger brother of Shahinur Rahman who was killed in the murder incident of four members of a family in Khalsi village of Kolaroa upazila of Satkhira. He was shown arrested Friday afternoon.
Earlier, Raihanul was detained by Kolaroa police for preliminary interrogation. The CID said that during the preliminary interrogation they gathered important information from him. It was not immediately clear if anyone else in the family was involved in the killings.
Anisur Rahman, Satkhira CID Special SP, said, "Raihanul Islam was arrested on Thursday while we gathered important information from him during the preliminary interrogation. However, it is not going to be disclosed in the interest of investigation."
A total of four members including husband-wife of a family were slaughtered to death by miscreants at Khalsi village of Kolaroa upazila of Satkhira early Wednesday. The deceased were: Shahinur Rahman, son of Shahjahan Ali, Shahinur’s wife Sabina Khatun, and their two children Siam Hossain Mahi and Tasnim.
Police recovered the bodies of four people early Thursday.
Although four of the five members of the family were killed, the killers left a five-month-old baby, Maria, next to her mother’s body.
Moyna Khatun, mother-in-law of Shahinur Rahman, filed a case with Kolaroa Police Station on Thursday night without naming anyone.
The case was handed over to CID on Friday morning. After that, the CID arrested Shahinur's younger brother Raihanul while another 4-5 people are being questioned on suspicion of involvement in the murder also.
The CID has started preliminary investigation into the suspects along with surveillance at the spot.
