Satellite-2 to be launched within 2023: Mustafa Jabbar

Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the work plan was being taken to set the launch of the country’s second satellite by 2023.
“The process of consultation with the stakeholders and the appointment of an international consultancy body has begun to determine what the second satellite of the country will be like and what services will be provided by it,” he said in response to a query of Anwar Hossain at Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday
The successful launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is one of the achievements of the present government, the minister said. “Through this, Bangladesh has become the 57th proud member of the Satellite Club.”
The launch of the second satellite was announced in the present government’s election manifesto, he also said.
Noted that the Bangabandhu-1 satellite was launched from the US Kennedy Space Center on May 11 in 2018.
