After the outbreak of the world epidemic coronavirus, the crisis of handwashing and sanitizers have been getting harsher in the market in Bangladesh. That's why Barisal University (BU) students have started producing hand sanitizers for free distribution in their own formulas.

Hand sanitizers have been manufactured for the free distribution at the Barisal University with its own financing by the initiative of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology to prevent Novel Coronavirus infection.

The process of hand sanitizer making has been completed on Sunday afternoon at the university's own lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. A four student team of the department led by the chairman of the department Dr. Rehana Parvin, produced the sanitizer.

Chairman of the department on the creation of sanitizer. Rehana Parvin said, “Our 5 membered team has initially manufactured 120 hand sanitizers of 100 mm. We know that there is a shortage of hand sanitizer in Sher e Bangla Medical. More than 50 percent of our initially made sanitizer will be provided to patients and physicians there.”

She added that this was possible with the sincere efforts of the Vice-Chancellor. In the future, more will be created and distributed to students and others for free.
