Today is the 50th birth anniversary of Salman Shah, also known as the Prince of Dhallywood. 

Born on this day in 1971 in Sylhet’s Dariyapara, Salman Shah’s father is Komar Uddin Chowdhury and his mother is Neela Chowdhury. Salman Shah’s real name is Shahriar Chowdhury Emon. He was the eldest son of the family.

Salman Shah’s acting career started as a child artist in BTV. However, since the beginning of his youth, his reputation has been growing rapidly in the media showbiz. ‘Salman storm’ had created all over the country.

By stirring the heart of millions of fans, Salman Shah made constant softness of love from his fans. After 25 years of Salman’s departure, his fans still miss him. Salman Shah was a glowing star whose place will never be fulfilled.

Salman Shah began his showbiz journey with the first episode of the television serial ‘Pathor Shomoy’. He debuted in the film industry with the most famous film ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’ directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan. Later, she starred in 27 commercial films within a very short period.

Almost every film of his acting was successful. His notable films are -- ‘Tumi Amar’, ‘Ontare Ontare’, ‘Shujon Shokhi’, ‘Bikkhov’, ‘Sneho’, ‘Prem Juddho’, ‘Den Mohor’, ‘Konna dan’, ‘Shopner Thikana’, ‘Anjuman’, ‘Moha Milon’, ‘Asha Bhalobasha’, ‘Bichar Hobe’, ‘Ei Ghar Ei Shongshar’, ‘Priyojon’, ‘Tomake Chai’, ‘Swapner Prithibi’, ‘Shotter Mrittu Nei’, ‘Jibon Songshar’, ‘Mayer Odhikar’, ‘Chaowa Theke Paowa’, ‘Prem Piyashi’, ‘Shopner Nayok’, ‘Shudhu Tumi’, ‘Ananda Ashru’, ‘Buker Bhetor Agun’.

Famous actresses such as Moushumi, Shabnur, Lima, Shabnaz, Brishti, Shabnaz, Shama, Shilpi, and others were paired with him. Even though Salman played the opposite of Moushumi in ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’ movie and this pair became well known later, Salman Shah did numerous films with actress Shabnur. The late hero also acted in eight TV dramas. 

Salman’s TV dramas are – ‘Pathor Shomoy’, ‘Etikotha’, ‘Akash Choya’, ‘Doyel’, ‘Sob Pakhi Ghore Fere’, ‘Nayon’, ‘Shopner Prithibi’, ‘Saikat Sarosh’. 

Salman Shah breathed his last through a “mysterious death” on September 6, 1996 — his hanging body was recovered from his Eskaton Road residence in the capital, which police later stated as “suicide”, however, Salman Shah’s parents denied and claimed his death as “murder”.
