Sahara Khatun laid to rest at her mother`s grave

Sahara Khatun`s first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Baitush Sharaf Jame Masjid in Tejgaon
Former Home Minister and Awami League praesidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun has been laid to rest at her mother's grave in Banani graveyard in the capital on Saturday morning.
Earlier, her first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Baitush Sharaf Jame Masjid in Tejgaon in the capital at around 10:00 am abiding by health guidelines. The second Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Banani mosque premises at 11:00 am. After the janaza, tributes to the former minister have been paid by placing floral wreaths on behalf of the President, Prime Minister and Speaker.
A flight carrying Sahara Khatun's body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Thailand around 1:55 am Bangladesh time. Her body was received by Awami League praesidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and state minister for shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
On July 6, Sahara Khatun was admitted at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Thailand's capital Bangkok. She passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment there at the age of 77.
The Awami League leader was admitted to the hospital on June 2 with fever and some old age complications. Later on June 22, she was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of United Hospital as her condition deteriorated. From there, she was taken to Thailand's capital Bangkok for better treatment by an air ambulance.
