The SSC and HSC examinations could be deferred for another two to three months from its’ scheduled time. The syllabus has already been shortened. Therefore, SSC and HSC equivalent examinations are not being held as per the pre-scheduled time, said Professor Nehal Ahmed, chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.
“This year’s SSC or HSC issue is different. Students could not attend classes. So even in the short syllabus, the students have to sit for the exam this year,” he said on Wednesday.
Earlier on January 27, the Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni met with curriculum experts at the NCTB and directed them to make a short syllabus of 60 days for SSC and 84 days for HSC.
On April 29, the Ministry of Education issued a notification announcing the opening of the educational institution on May 23, considering the health and overall safety of students, teachers, staff and parents due to the increase in Covid-19 outbreak.
The ministry took the decision after a meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Coronavirus on March 25.
However, online education activities will continue at this time. At the same time, teachers, students and parents called for compliance with the hygiene rules.
